It’s rather funny that the paper bags have fresh fruit and vegetables and a baguette, while what can be seen in the plastic bags is processed, boxed food. Is that a box of incandescent bulbs I see? A cake mix, perhaps? Wheat Thins? In choosing one over the other (paper v. plastic) are we choosing a whole philosophy about food - convenience v. sustainability, effort v. effluence, life v. shelf life, competence v. ersatz competence (as with boxed cake mix, you feel just like you’re baking! heat the oven! grease the pan! add eggs, oil and water and it’s as good as…if it came out of the paper bag).
